DEVELOPING A COMPUTER PROGRAM TO AUTOMATICALLY IDENTIFY ABNORMALITIES ON MRI BRAIN SCANS

Researcher: Darren Hudson
Clinical Area: MRI
Summary: Our Surrey and Sussex Healthcare (SASH), Eastbourne District General Hospital and Croydon InHealth units are being used in an MIDI study, as part of the NHS’s national research campaign. Run in collaboration with King’s College Hospital London, its aim is to develop a computer programme to automatically identify abnormalities on MRI brain scans. The recruitment of patients into the programme is performed at each site at the time the MRI scan is performed. The three InHealth sites were in the top four recruiters for the country in November.
